Kusare Usagi (Rabbit)
I would like to introduce a character who has been my partner for many years. He was born around 2006, when I first started drawing illustrations for DokuDokuOtome. He is characterized by his half-open eyes and mouth. Her cheeks are also lacking in energy. The name of the character is “Kusare,” and he is a lovable character with no motivation. In this picture book, he appears as Otome’s favorite stuffed animal.
The slack-jawed and unmotivated character does not need to be forced to be affectionate; it is fine if he is rotten! and the cheekiness of a junior high school student in a photo that you hate to take. I named her “Kusare” with all my heart. Recently, I finally said, “I’m Kusare Rabbit. I’m half rotten. I’m half rotten. I wonder if people will think I’m crazy, but that’s OK.
If you’re drawing illustrations, it’s the making of the illustration that people want to see, not the finished version! I took on the challenge. Please take a look at this small pencil drawing of a rabbit, if you like.
The “Go! fabmii2020” Mitaka Pre-Founding Members Joint Exhibition is being held from February 7, and the picture book is also on display and for sale as the second edition on February 7. This time, the paper for the cover and the text was changed to make it more like a notebook. The book is now on sale with a Kusare rabbit sticker.
